“Once you start teaching Yoga it becomes a calling. When you have that then you don’t stop.” – Emil Wendel

Why do this Teacher Training course?

Yoga is the path to enlightenment. It is about love, liberation and freedom. Moksha. It is our highest intention to guide you on this ancient and sacred path towards self-realisation. Your journey begins with the art of listening. Listen to the breath. Turn your awareness inwards and hear silence. Hear your inner voice. Subtle, mystical inner sounds or lights might appear. Hone your vision and see through mistaken identity to see your true Self. Purusha. Gaze beyond outer differences toward the absolute Truth. Many a deserving adept has raised the Kundalini, tasted the nectar, seen the inner light, caught a glimpse of Absolute Truth, the Higher Self, and union with the transcendental. On a more practical level, find out who you really are. On this course, you will discover the underlying spiritual techniques of the Yoga tradition that remove suffering and lead to inner peace.

As a yogi we want to surrender to the practice. Asana gives you freedom physically from illness and disease. Pranayama frees you from your regular breath and makes the pranic body vibrant and subtle. Meditation takes you deeper to understand how the mind works. It liberates you from an unstable and unproductive mind. And this is where real freedom lies.

Learning how to communicate that is not an easy matter. Unlike some teacher trainings, we endeavor to teach you how to teach. What this Yoga Teacher Training offers is comprehensive skills for personal transformation. You can only ever teach what you know. Once you go through your own transformation the knowledge is inside you and, ultimately, makes you a better teacher. Most teacher trainings examine the key fundamental questions of yoga, but often that knowledge remains in the head as theory. This course is experiential and designed to take you deeper, to the spiritual heart of the matter.

We take an interdisciplinary approach to the interconnectedness between all 8 limbs of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. Ashtanga means ‘8 limbs’ in Sanskrit. What is important is not just to acquire knowledge, but to actually live the yogic reality – to take the practice off the mat and integrate the knowledge into your life and share it with others.

This Yoga Teacher Training invites dedicated individuals (no more that 16 participants), to become totally immersed in ancient Yogic techniques and contemporary practices. By the end of the month, you will have a taste of what it means to be a yogi. We can’t promise that all of you will feel confident to teach, as yoga takes many years of passionate dedication, persistence, continuous practice and inner transformation. For sure, it will deepen your practice and you’ll come away with the tools for inner inquiry to look correctly into the world around you, diminish suffering and change your life. Freedom is a state of mind.

We offer a 200-hour training and a 300-hour training (for those who have a 200 RYS) to give you 500-hour Yoga Alliance certification.
