The Venue
Lotus Yoga Retreat is located at the far south end of Patnem Beach, between the relics of a sacred Hindu site and the ocean. It's the perfect place to relax and swim in the sea. The eco-friendly huts made of bamboo, palm leaves and straw are comfortable and give you the necessary luxury without taxing the environment. Each hut has a balcony with an Asian day-bed and hammocks are suspended from the trees for your relaxation. Thanks to our pristine location at the end of the beach the nights are perfectly silent and you can fall asleep to the sound of the waves. This is the perfect spot to 'retreat' or 'escape by foot' to beachfront shops and restaurants a few minutes away.
Our food concept is healthy, tasty and wherever possible organic - fresh tropical fruit, homemade organic yoghurt, vegetarian dishes (delicious even for those not used to vegetarian food), dhal, rice, salads, herbal teas and chai. Throughout the day you can order small snacks, vitamin and health-booster juices and fresh tropical fruit. In the evening, the restaurant menu changes daily. Our chefs creatively prepare local, seasonal produce giving you a selection of delicious dishes to choose from. Fish is also included as an option in our evening menu because the seafood in Goa is very fresh and tasty.

The Yoga
Two yoga classes a day take place in a yoga shala beside the sea. Each day begins with a led Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Primary Series class, that evolves over the 10 days to Mysore self-practice. We'll study the inner and outer techniques of vinyasa that tie the poses together in a ‘moving meditation'; develop the ‘inner limbs' of yoga to develop focus and concentration skills that enhance clarity of mind; use the breath to feel safe enough to move through difficult poses and work honestly at your edge; shift energy in problem areas (hips & shoulders); restorative yoga; learn use yoga as a healing/transformational tool to move through fear and release hardness in the body; experience deep inner peace and insight; learn to be at ease in the present moment. It's a deep practice that moves beyond the physical experience to make the yogic inquiry authentic and relevant to real life. Develop a daily practice so inspiring you'll want to get on your mat as soon as you get home. Be a yogi for life!
